Testimony of God’s Faithfulness
I.P. writes … “My husband and I live in Canada and have 3 children, 2 girls, one and a half years apart, and a son 4 years younger. Presently they are 18, 17 and 13 years old. Our priorities from the beginning of our marriage were to raise our children as healthy as
possible and to teach them to honor God. We always have been active in a Bible believing church and, for medical needs, we generally seek the help of a naturopath and avoid toxins.
Despite all our efforts, however, our middle daughter started to complain about flu-like symptoms more and more frequently. This started around the age of 11. Her headaches became more frequent and debilitating. Improvements in nutrition, water intake, more sleep and exercise, and ensuring her stress level was reasonable did not seem to help. All tests done by the medical doctor came back negative; however, her symptoms became more and more serious.
Over the next 5 years, her pain became chronic and normal activities became impossible. We were pouring all our energies and resources into helping her survive. We no longer could go on outings, have people over, eat meals together, etc. The house had to be absolutely quiet as her hearing became oversensitive and she was using every ounce of energy to cope with her pain.
Because of the constant pain and inability to sleep, she was extremely agitated and spent all her time in her room. By grade 10, going to school was no longer an option. The fear and stress at home was affecting everyone in the family in a profound way. A few months before her 16th birthday, God helped us to get a diagnosis. She was suffering with Lyme Disease.
